Singaporean sixties garage bands were really goods, but not well known as they deserve. Nevertheless, people are review this music in its merely place. Lara Tan was a famous sixties singer who sung in Mandarin Chinese. Now listen The Beatles hit "Run for your life", a song versioned much times, although the best cover I have ever listen is the one that Nancy Sinatra did in 1964.
