Another band from Barcelona. They played there the October 5, 1969, after the wining of the II Festival Internacional de la Canción de Barcelona, with the song "Yo creo en Dios". They also played the Sunday 28, september 1969 at the "Parque de atracciones de Montjuich", and introduced by humourist Alfonso Lusson Enjoy!

The Flaps were playing in Madrid from 1959, having a changing line up till 1963. In these year they were banded by four Aeronautical Engineering students: Manuel Diaz Pallares (guitar), Jose Antonio Alvarez Alija (drums), Juan Antonio González "Ñique" (bass), Álvaro Yébenes (guitar), and Juan García Ros (singer). During the sixties appeared in several rock & roll festivals, including "La matinales del Price" and they signed for RCA in 1963, recording their 1st EP. At late 1963 Alvarez is replaced by José Luis Baizan (drums) and Yébenes is replaced by Francisco Manuel Seva on rhythm guitar being definitively established. By the way, Yénebes and Álvarez banded Los Continentales. In 1965, after stressing for their instrumental pure music and bright sound and accompanying voices like those of Albert Hammond and Steve Rowland, decided to end his career. LOS 4 JETS - SHAKE, BABY, SHAKE
One of the first pop-rock bands of Madrid was the first-formed under the name of Los Mágicos in 1958 by brothers Santiago Gonzalez Picatoste (rhythm guitar), and José María (bass). After various vicissitudes, some military service, and little success, these two musicians will touch another guitarist, Tony Reinoso, and a Philipine living in Spain since childhood: Eddy Guzman (drums and vocals) who came from Los Pekenikes. Taking the initial of each of their names will band Los 4 Jets in 1962. Their first contract under the new name drive them to Ales Club (Calle Veneras, 6), where they currently played. In 1963 Tony Reynoso was replaced by another musician from the Philippines, Ricky Morales.
Their debut took place in February 1963 in one of the "Las mañanas del Price" (see video here). Before, they refused several recording offers, since they were forced to do the inevitable Spanish covers of English songs, and what they wanted was to make their own creations from Spanish folk songs and original compositions. Finally, in early 1964, when the group was one of the most popular in Madrid, with weekly performances in famous rooms dance halls, such as Ales, Castelló, or Consulate, Polydor offered them the recordings what they want, especially what they perform in live.
In an interview in the journal Fonorama (June 1964), they declared that they do not like to act on sites like Price because viewers scream and that, in his opinion, the public should keep silence during performances. One of their identity card was the solos of the drummer Eddy Guzmán. They left four EP recorded, although the latter never came out. Their most notable issue was "Zorongo" instrumental adaptation of the popular "Zorongo Gypsy", a song signed by none other than Federico García Lorca, who held positions in the unreliable headboards charts in his time.In 1965 after a summer with numerous performances, the enmity of Eddy battery with Gonzalez Picatoste bross makes the disappearance of Los 4 Jets.
Ricky Morales would continue later with names like Los Shakers, Los Brincos (June 1967, recording "Lola"), or Barrabás. Eddie Guzman returned for a time to his home band: Los Pekenikes. Tony Reynoso joined Los Continentales. The Gonzalez-Picatoste brothers tried unsuccessfully to revive his band. Jose Maria and Eddy, unfortunately, already left us forever.

Empecé con Pablo Herrero con 16 años, formamos el grupo LOS TIGRES. En nuestra primera actuación, en un concurso denominado RUEDE LA BOLA que presentaba Angel Echenique conocimos a José Luis Armenteros, Ignacio y Ricardo componentes de LOS MORGAN que tb actuaron ese día y se unieron al grupo de LOS TIGRES, actuando ya como grupo bien formado en sitios como el Parque Movil del Ministerio (Pablo al piano, Tony a la guitarra soliista y voz, Ignacio guitarra rítmica, José Luis Armenteros al bajo y Ricardo a la batería). La tentación de actuar como invitado con Los Pekenikes trajo como consecuencia mi salida del grupo, LOS TIGRES se cambiaron el nombre, no cogieron nuevo cantante y se dedicaron a tocar música istrumental con gran éxito y se cambiaron el nombre, DICK y LOS RELÄMPAGOS luego definitivamente fueron LOS RELÄMPAGOS a los que tambien grabé y produje con el tiempo un LP. Eddi Guzmán, batería de Los pekenikes deja el grupo y junto a Juan y Alvaro Nieto formamos LOS JEAT, iniciales de nuestros nombres. Eddi y yo estudiabamos Económicas y cuando faltaban 4 días para tocar en el paso del ecuandor de nuestra facultad Alvaro y Juan dejan el grupo por diferencias con Eddi. Contacto a dos componentes del grupo LOS MÄGICOS que se acababan de disolver y les propongo que toquen con nosotros en La Tuna en el paso de nuestra facultad, sus nombres Santiago y José María Gonzales Picatoste. La Actuación es un éxito rotundo y decidimos formar definitivamente el grupo y seguir con esta formación. Siguiendo la fórmula anterior el nombre del grupo se forma con las iniciales de nuestros nombres el nombre del grupo? LOS JETS (José María bajista, Eddi batería y voz, Tony Reynoso guitarra solista y Santiago guitarra de acompañamiento). Por razones personales, los benditos estudios, ya se sabe, tengo que abandonar el grupo sustituyéndome Ricki Morales hermano de Antonio Morales, Junior, al que con el tiempo tambien sustituye en el grandioso grupo de LOS BRINCOS. El grupo al momento de grabar su primer EP salen como LOS 4 JETS, no se de qien fué la idea de poner Los 4 Jets. Más tarde y una vez salvado el escollo de los estudios, entro como cantante en LOS FLAPS grabando un EP para la RCA grabando un tema de Palito Ortega "DEJALA, DEJALA" y otro elegido por mi "EL VAGABUNDO DE LA PLAYA", que más tarde versionaría tambien Miguel Rios. Alcabo de un tiempo paso a LOS CONTINENTALES como guitarra solista. Despues de pasar por otras formaciones y despues de producir a LOS TENNESSEE y a MARIO TENIA Y LOS SOLITARIOS me incorporo a este último grupo como guitarra solista y cantante a la limón con Alfonso Morales en las actuaciones en directo, en la siguiente grabación donde además soy el autor de la mayoría de los temas y ser su productor pasamos a ser definitivamente LOS SOLITARIOS. Con este grupo y siempre como productor autor, guitarra solista yy aveces como ingeniero de sonido grabamos para Twins, Mikel Barsa, la editorial de Canciones del Mundo y por fin para Producciones Changó productora y editorial de mi propiedad. En mi estudio produzco y grabo desde R´N´R a Sleepy La Beef, Sonny Fisher,e infinidad de grupos de todos los estilos hasta flamenco como a Victor Monje "Serranito" . Desde Las matinales del Circo Price con LOS JETS o LOS FLAPS, casi todas las televisiones del Pais, discotecas etc he actuado cientos de veces con Los Tigres, Los Pekenikes, como invitado, Los Jets, del cual fuí cofundador, Los Flaps, Los Continentales, Mario Tenia y los Solitarios y luego Los Solitarios y dos leyendas del Rock And Roll, Sony Fisher y Sleepy La Beef en directo y televisión en infinidad de ocasiones y durante años . Soy músico, compositor, productor, ingeniero de sonido, editor etc. Esta es mi vida todo lo demás que cuenten sobre mi o no es verdad o es verdad solo a medias. Como dijo alguien al que leí " la verdad solo tiene un camino" lo demás son músicas gregorianas. En la actualidad vivo en Santo Domingo en la República Dominicana, feliz y tranquilo, es el reposo del guerrero. Que me quiten lo bailao.

During January 2013, I shall upload an amount of Spanish rarities, good songs not well known as they deserve, obscure items and bands. It is very hard to find, and write the story of these bands, since they recorded just one 45, or EP; or they are casual recordings. But all these nuggets have the air of the deepest Spanish sixties. How happy they seemed to be! How simply, but beautiful, the lyrics are! How truth their music have inside! How easily we can travel to the past! How many dreams appear while listening this music! I hope you enjoy this month.
All my best wishes to you all during this new year. As to me, I shall not request nothing to 2013, since I have given too much efforts to 2012. This year, I hope it could give me a lot of things that I have already paid.
