LOS BLUE SPLENDOR - NO DUDES DE MI
Los Blue Splendor were initially banded in 1962 (Valparaíso-Chile) by Ángelo Machiavello (keyboard), Rafael Palacios (singer), Carlos Cifuentes (sax), Óscar García (2nd sax), René Mena (guitar), Wilton Jil (bass), and Rubén Leiva (drums). They recorded 3 LPS: "Los Blue Splendor" (1966), "Los Blue Splendor" (1967), and "Los Blue Splendor" (1968). In June 2012 they celebrated their 50th Anniverssary playing at the Teatro Municipal de Valparaíso, without Ángelo Machiavelo (d. August 2011), but with his song Ángelo Machiavelo Jr. Enjoy this rock and roll chilean band!

BEAT 4 - QUIERO FUGARME CON ELLA A UNA ISLA SOLITARIA reloaded
Beat 4 started as a four-friends gang. Brothers Mario (drums) and Willy Benítez (bass), Johny Paniagua (guitar), and Reinaldo Rhino González (guitar & voices). Under the influence of The Beatles, The Kinks, and The Animals htey banded "Los electrones". In 1966 they changed the name. Beat 4, and they started to sing in spanish. A very nice band from Chile. let us listen a song from their LP "Juegos prohibidos" (1968).

La Nueva Ola Chilena
With the boom that had the rock and roll in the world in the 1960s, Chilean music industry contemplated to accommodate young local performers, who will perform songs and recognized worldwide. Producers and programmers of records, played a key role, through radio programs and their influences on the record labels, saw in the Chilean rock sung by a real product with commercial potential. That was how this musical movement was closely related to the mass media, mainly radio and television, and the characters linked to them, who often reached levels of popularity similar to the performers themselves. In this respect the figures of the artistic director and disc jockey were fundamental.
With an eminently international appearance, emerged during the 1960s the movement known as New Wave, a term that was already known in Argentina and Europe with some variations. Its performers, all young and handsome, popular music flooded the mass with his songs. The Carr Twins, Buddy Richard, The Red Junior, Luis Dimas, José Alfredo Fuentes, Fresia Soto, Cecilia, who in 1965 won the Festival de Viña del Mar, Gloria Aguirre and Pat Henry, to name a few, were one of the movements higher productivity in the history of Chilean popular music, becoming a true idol. The stamps were careful to take his cast to these great drag performers novice, the disc became a precious commodity, depending on the audio content and photo of your cover, and the movement itself exceeded its musical nature to become a social phenomenon.
However, this musical trend was not without fierce criticism. Sandy
The first artistic steps from Sandy were somewhat different from the rest of the other young singers. Most of them started singing at student parties and dances, while Sandy first became acquainted with the microphone, before entering the field. Mining radio serials made in Viña del Mar, for six months, where she later sang. The "Calduch" radius of Valparaiso Portales met in 1961 when Miguel Davagnino was responsible for program management and her product, and other amateur singers of the era ell christened her name with the interpreter: Sandy.
After singing for some time in the radio program Portales, Davanigno himself called him to hold office as a programmer at the station, where she spent a year doing all the programming of the radio.
By then Discomania touring in northern Chile, where the representative Juan Vasquez was interested that Sandy was integrated as a singer. It was her stroke of luck, because there Palmenia met Pizarro, her close friend and it was later the same Palmenia who spoke with Sandy's parents, to let her present it in Santiago de Chile and to tempt fate.
Thanks to Palmenia, Sandy was able to shorten path and make his first recording for Philips, together with the set of Valparaiso "Tigers", later resigned to the label, to be hired by the label Vivarta who ran Scottie Scott. In this recorded "Pepe is Daddy," "The Stroller", then signs for Demon, always in the hands of Scottie Scott as her producer. There imposed "Say you hate me" and others who follow the path of success. Sandy whose real name is Cristina Fernández Castillo, a native of Cerro Baron of Valparaiso, is based for many years in Panama.
