2012 Promo Poster

It has become a tradition a yearly happening in Tomelloso (Ciudad Real): "El Guateque de Tomelloso". With "La Peña Los Canuthi" as expertized organizers, the past August 4th was celebrated the 5th edition of this major event in whole Spain. This 60s and 70s party had such success that they couldn't accept more people into  "Los Jardines del Parque": 3.702 people. The popularity of this is increasing year by year due to the support of many people, and especially, the aforementioned "Peña Los Canuthi", a friends-gang with a main purpose (as they say in the official blog): to have fun!! Even The Beatles couldn't resist the temptation and participated in the guateque, being received as they deserve: in a limousine, as you can see in the picture below:

Definitely I only can recommend this party, destined to be a reference 60s-70s party in all over the world. I upload a photograph report sent by the organizers, and requested by me (many thanks!!). Please, see below, and don't forget that they are waiting you in the next celebration!

CAFÉ CON LECHE - THE BUBBLE GUM SONG reloaded

Café con Leche were two young American kids who released at least two records in Spain in '72/'73. For what reasons and the amount of success the record achieved are unknown, but its great that they did! The Spanish speaking world during the 70's and early 80's seemed to have a thing for groups featuring young members, with artists such as La Pandilla, Los Chicos and Parchis garnering massive success in Spain and Latin America.

Enrique "Quique" Sappia Villanueva (Buenos Aires, 1942-1997) was the vocalist of "Los Náufragos" during the late 60s and earl 70s.Later, he started his solist career. this song come from this times, included in his LP "Primavera con alta tensión" (1972). A late-beat song. Enjoy!

THE ROCKING BOYS - TWIST SENSACIONAL reloaded

Few boys listening Radio Gibraltar, Radio Tánger, and the radio of the US Military Centre at "La Rota" were the basics elements for them from La Linea de la Concepción (Cádiz). José Gómez (chorus and guitar), Agustín Martínez (singer and drums), Carlos Jaime (piano and sax), and the Portuguese Ricardo Oliveira (bass). From 1960 to 1968, they had great success. Their first EP is devoted to the Twist. Let us listen "Twist sensacional", a cover of  "Quarter to Four Stomp", by The Stompers (1962).
