LOS 5 DEL ESTE - AGUJETAS DE COLOR DE ROSA reloaded
Another grest spanish band. Los 5 del Este, from Manacor (Mallorca) banded in 1962, with great success in the island till today. Among their members highlights Rafel Ferrer Massanet (d. 2006), who made the lyriucs of a lot of their sogs, such as "Sí, sí, sí", "Módulo lunar", "El tambor", and "No he visto a Enrique VIII". Ferrer accompanied to Los 5 del Este in their English tours.Other great members are Miquel Pascual (voices), and Tomeu Penya. Los 5 del Este currently played at Cala Millor. Enjoy!!

Z-66 - TRYING TO GET YOU
Banded in Mallorca during 1966 by Vicenç Caldentey (guitar), Leopoldo González (bass), Gerónimo (organ), Tito (drums), and Pedro Brunet (sax). The band has as main scope Mallorca, and loved the soul and psychedelic. "Los Z-66" had a famous singer: Lorenzo Roselló, a.k.a Lorenzo Santamaría, with a later career as solist. They covered English psichedelic bands, such as Vainilla Fudge, The Move, or The Herd. In 1967 the band suffered many changes: a new drummer (Manolo Marí), Pep Noguera (keyboards), and the saxman Manolo Martínez ("Ness"). Their best year was 1968. Lorenzo Santamaría tells us his meeting with Eric burdon in 1968 at The Club Toltec (Mallorca):
In The Toltec, a day came Eric Burdon, the singer of The Animals. I bought an Burdon echo [...] He said me as follows: The echo is into your throat, not in the apparatus.

THE FOUR WINDS AND DITO - NO ME DEJAS VIVIR EN PAZ
The Four Winds and Dito, Mallorca beat pioneers, with only 2 EPs under EMI/Regal Records. the first Ep (1964) starts with "Tijuana", mixing the emergent beat-pop and late 50s tunes. Followings, three covers of Little Richard ("Bamma lama, bamma loo"), Betty Everett ("You're no good"), and The Mojos ("Give your lovin' for me"). The 2nd Ep starts with a cover of The Byrds, "Recuerda" ("Turn, Turn, Turn"). Following "No me dejas vivir en paz", with a Farfisa keyboard. In the B-side, two more covers: "El juicio universal" ("The last very day"), by The Hollies, and "Yo ya no te comprendo" ("Something better beginning"), by The Kinks.

ZEBRA - BAD BAD TIME
Zebra, from Mallorca, were a band made of two pieces Z-66 and Los Bravos = Zee + Bra, and with great musicians, such as Joan Bibiloni (leader, vocal and guitar), Agustí Fernández (keyboards), Albert Candela (bass), David Walmsley (guitar) and Manolo Marí (drums). With an spanlife from 1972 to 1976, they became a progressive band, but also a pop-rock. They covered "bad, bad time" by The Roulettes. This song (February 1964) has become The Roulettes´ most famous song, but more because of its inclusion on beat compilations than because of chart success.

LOS MASSOT - SUGAR, SUGAR
Los Massots were a band from Mallorca, playing since 1967 till early seventies, both covers and spanish well-known songs, such as their Ep "España hits", including "Porompompero", or "Currucucucú Paloma".
This cover has not the beat of The Archies, but remains as a decent effort.

LOS BETA - NIGHT TRAIN
Los Beta, or Los Beta quartet, was a garage band from Mallorca, although they covered others music styles, even close to the popular music. I shall upload more interesting garage themes from them. But now, listen this garage cover of the famous original 1952 blues hit "Night train", an instrumental covered a lot of times, from The Ventures to Guns N,Roses.

LOS POPS - NO, NO, NO reloaded
Los Pops was a very good Spanish pop band from Mallorca, with a short career: just 3 Eps in 1967. They are still waiting the room they deserve in the Spanish history of pop.

KARINA - ME LO DIJO PÉREZ reloaded
Me lo dijo Pérez is another song that pray for the tourism at Mallorca. Compossed by Alberto Cortez, and also performed by Los tres sudamericanos, was Karina who sung this song in the Festival de Mallorca in 1965 with great success.

LOS MISMOS - EL PUENTE reloaded
LOS MISMOS was a pop band from Valladolid composed by Elena Vázquez Minguela (Helena Bianco in her own music career), Antonio Pérez Gutiérrez, and Benjamín Santos Calonge. Founded in 1968, they recorded with Belter Company. They get a lot of hits, such as "El hombre del tiempo", "El domingo en mi pueblo", "Voy a pintar las paredes con tu nombre", "Don Juan", "Mil amores", "Catalina", "Pon una cinta en el viejo roble", "Lo hice por María", and "San Bernardino".They belonged to the Spanish style of doing pop music during the Sixities. That is, the mixed folk tunes with pop and rock rythms. They were a lot of bands and singers doing exactly the same, assuring by this way a base success, at least, in Spain. For more success they versioned international hits. Los Mismos themselves performed the 1973 Tony Orlando hit "Tie a yellow ribbon round the ole oak tree" ("Pon una cinta en el viejo roble") (forthcoming)
