SUCO Y LOS ESCORPIONES - THE BOOM LAY BOOM

Los Escorpiones was another Valencian mid-60 rock band, with Andrés Belmonte (solist guitar), and Paco, José, and Pepe. Later, Vicente Moya "Suco" joined them. "Suco" was the adopted name, taken from a player of Valencia Football Club, that was, and is, his favorite football team. Vicente Moya Civera was born in a large Lauria Street building, with aample courtyard endowed, in which stood a huge pile of marble where the child Vicentín clambered to. No to balance, but to sing Luis Mariano successes or Machin, Concha Piquer couplets ... all rang in the powerful voice of this child, who cheered from the windows of the home farm. So, in time, when the boy had finished his bachelor at the Dominicans Schools, and worked as a clerk in a company, because they had to contribute to the family economy, took courage and a couple of partitures (African twist, and Sabato sera) and, without thinking twice, he proposed to be the singer of the the Orchestra Lluch, that acted in the Parador del Foc. "I want to sing," he proposed. And they accepted, and acted a few times with success. "That encouraged me," he says. It was the fury of the rock stage. Since my 14 or 15 years, he continuously listened specialized modern music Radio programs, read Salut les Copains and other music magazines then. First joined Ethel y Los Drakers, until he knew that Los Escorpiones were looking for a singer. Thus arose which became famous band Suco y Los Escorpiones.
A trip each weekend.  "All weekend trip, we had to get the instruments at the Cine Español, now disappeared, where we rehearsed, load it into the van, hitting the road was leading us throughout the Region, and even beyond, to Aragon and North.  Weekdays continued ... each with their profession or job. Fair in July was a great showcase where contracts to act arose in towns whose mayors came to see what stood out. And then there were the morning sessions in the Teatro Apollo, or Cine Rex, and we played and songs of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. " Relive those days spontaneously. "With precarious means, far from what exists today, we managed to do spectacular things. Remember one morning at the Apollo who none band did not want to start the session, and we rushed us. We mounted a very complicated version of Good Vibrations, by The Beach Boys, and started with this song while the curtain rose. There was a general cry of astonishment, and people flipped. To dramatize Fire, by Arthur Brown, they invent smoke effects and Chinese fireworks, causing impact. Anyway, it was a great time, really. "
