THE BRISKS - MARÍA CRISTINA

The Brisks was formed in early 60s under the ame of "Helógenos". Its members, students, after various tests and student performances on the field and in the festivities Ceuta, get Jose Garzon as their manager. The first step is to rename, choosing The Brisks Boys (in English), and later The Brisks. At these moment, the members were: Juan Pozo (b. Ceuta, 1944), guitar and voice; José García (b. Ceuta, 1943), on drums; Antonio Morales (b. Ceuta, 1945), sax & organ; Julio Rey (b. Tánger, 1943), bassist, and Jesús Zurita, as singer. Soon after J. Zurita is replaced by Arturo (Catalonia). José Garzón will get its first contracts to operate far from Ceuta. Actions performed by many cities: Logroño, Zaragoza, Barcelona, Costa Brava, Torremolinos, etc. In Barcelona recorded their first album (Belter) after which ther singer will communicate the decision to leave the music to continue their education (parental pressure was the real cause of this abandonment). The position was filled by Julian Arturo Granados (Granada 1946) ex-singer with Los Angeles Azules, and later, singer of Los Buenos. They become very famous in Maroc, Portugal,Spain... and even they were at Star Club (Hamburg). Enjoy this Cuban "guaracha", originally composed by Ñico Saquito. This song became a landmark into the 60s Spanish music.
